Sylvain Matthey-Junod

Sylvain Matthey-Junod
Mr Matthey-Junod was appointed to the Bank’s Board of Directors in January 2023 and elected Chairman in June of the same year. He is an expert in banking and stock exchange law. He is a member of the SIX Sanctions Commission, the Association Romande des Intermédiaires Financiers and the Supervisory Body for Financial Institutes. He was responsible for legal and compliance matters at Pictet, Lombard Odier and Syz banks in Geneva, and represented them on the Swiss Bankers Association’s Legal Committee and in various working groups. Mr Matthey-Junod has written several legal publications.

Léonard Martel
Mr Martel joined the Bank’s Board of Directors in 2006 and was subsequently elected Vice-Chairman. Mr Martel’s career has been mainly in banking with Morgan Guaranty Trust in Belgium and New York, where he held various positions in account management, global treasury services, and in the management of correspondent banks. From 1987, he was Managing Director of Banque Internationale à Luxembourg (Suisse) SA. In 1996, he joined Banque Degroof Suisse SA as General Manager and later became a member of its Board of Directors until 2012

Joseph Benhamou

Joseph Benhamou
Mr Benhamou is a Graduate Engineer, a Chartered Accountant and holds a Master’s degree in Econometrics from the University of Geneva. He began his career as a teaching assistant in the department of Econometrics. He joined Peat Marwick & Co. in 1980 and Audiba as a consultant in 1982. In 1986, he joined Bank Julius Baer as an Executive Member and Head of Operations. In 1989, he joined HSBC Republic as General Manager in charge of Finance, Operations, Compliance and IT until 2000, when he played a key role in setting up and obtaining the banking license for Bank Jacob Safra, of which he was subsequently appointed CEO. Mr Benhamou is the main representative of the shareholding family of CBH. Leading the Bank as CEO for 12 years, he was instrumental in its growth. In 2014, he decided to take on a non-executive role as a member of the Board of Directors.

Didier De Montmollin

Didier De Montmollin
Mr De Montmollin was appointed to the Bank’s Board in 2014 and is Chairman of the Audit Committee. He began his career in Basel as a lawyer for the Swiss Bankers Association and has since been active in the field of banking and financial law. He founded DGE Avocats in 2011 and has been involved in the implementation of the AMLA, in particular as an investigator of the Due Diligence Agreement, as a member of the Board of the OAR, of the Swiss Bar Association and of the OAR Forum Committee (until end 2021). He is also a lecturer on “Compliance in financial services” at the University of Geneva.

Sabine Kilgus
Ms Kilgus was appointed to the Bank’s Board in August 2020 and is a member of the Audit Committee. She is a partner at Losinger Rechtsanwälte. She has taught banking and financial market law at the Universities of Zurich and St. Gallen , where she has been an Adjunct Professor since 2015. She also teaches AML law at the SRO Fiduciaire Suisse. From 2008 to 2011, she was a FINMA Board member and a member of the Swiss Federal Banking Commission. In 2011, she was appointed to the Board of Directors of the Federal Audit Oversight Authority, where she serves as Vice Chair. Ms Kilgus holds a PhD in law from the University of Zurich.

Dominique Maguin
Mr Maguin was appointed to the Bank’s Board in 2009. He was previously CEO of Veolia Environnement. He was also Chairman of the FEDEREC (Fédération Professionnelle des Entreprises du Recyclage) for 9 years and is still its Honorary President. In 2014, he founded the Confederation of European Recycling Industries (EuRIC), which represents nearly all European countries. In 2017, he participated in the creation of the Confédération des Métiers de l’Environnement (CME), that brings together over 1,500 companies and of which he is now President. Mr Maguin holds a law degree from the University of Montpellier.

Simona Terranova
Ms Terranova was appointed to the Bank’s Board and Audit Committee in 2022. She is a founding partner of MT Finance (Suisse), and an expert in compliance and risk management for financial institutions. As lead auditor at PwC and partner at Deloitte’s, she acquired over 20 years’ experience in big 4 audit firms, advising banks, asset managers and collective investment schemes. She was a member of the Expertsuisse working group on the Collective Investment Schemes Act. An active trainer for various institutions (USPI, Fund Academy, Academy & Finance, University of Geneva), she holds a limited number of directorships in BA and FinIA institutions.

Thierry Weber
Mr Weber joined the Bank’s Board of Directors in 2006 and served as Chairman from 2009 to 2023. Mr Weber spent the first years of his career at various banks in Düsseldorf and Paris. From 1971, he was a Manager at Banque de Neuflize, Schlumberger, Mallet. In 1979, Mr Weber joined Swiss-Kuwaiti Bank in Geneva as Deputy Manager of Wealth Management, Securities & Financial Operations, and was later appointed Managing Director. In 1993, he joined CBH Bank as Deputy General Manager in charge of the Investment Department and later of the subsidiaries. Mr Weber is a financial analyst and a graduate of the University of Paris.

Simon Benhamou
Mr Benhamou is Chief Executive Officer of CBH Bank since 2024. He joined the CBH family banking group in 2009 as Wealth Manager and became Head of the EMEA Business Area in 2011. He was appointed to the Executive Committee in 2014 and in 2018 became Head of Wealth Management. Also in charge of strategic development, he successfully led the Group’s digital transformation since 2019. He started his career in investment banking at Société Générale Corporate & Investment Banking and then as an analyst in Debt Capital Markets at UniCredit Group. He holds a Master’s degree in International Economics from Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne University.

Julien Faure-Geors
Mr Faure-Geors is Chief Risk Officer and Chief Financial Officer of CBH Bank since 2021 and Deputy CEO since 2024. He spent the first 11 years of his career as an external auditor with Mazars and with PricewaterhouseCoopers in France, Monaco and, since 2010, in Switzerland. In 2016, he joined Gonet & Cie as Risk Manager and was later appointed Group Chief Risk Officer. He will remain there for just over 4 years. Mr Faure-Geors holds a Master’s degree in Accounting and Finance, and is an Expert Auditor certified by the Federal Audit Oversight Authority.

Amos Poncini
Mr Poncini is Chief Investment Officer since 2014 and Deputy CEO of CBH Bank since 2024. He oversees the Asset & Portfolio Management, Trading, Advisory, and Credit Departments, and chairs the Investment Committee. Mr Poncini is a member of the Board of Directors of 1618 Investment Funds, a SICAV promoted by the Bank, where he is also Lead Manager of the Short Term and Asset Allocation Funds. Prior to these roles, he worked at BNP Paribas for 8 years. Prior to joining BNP Paribas, Mr Poncini was a teaching assistant at the Finance Department of the University of Fribourg.

Jean-Christophe Claude
Mr Claude is in charge of CBH Group’s Business Risk Management and Subsidiaries’ Coordination since 2023. He joined the Bank in 2016 as Head of Compliance before being appointed to the Bank’s Executive Committee in 2017 and assuming the role of Group Head of Compliance. Mr Claude began his career in 1989 at Lehman Brothers, where he held positions in the Back Office and in the Treasury department, where he was appointed Head of Trading. In 2001, he joined Royal Bank of Canada as Head of Compliance and Global Risk. He is an accountant, a Certified European Financial Analyst, a Chartered Wealth Manager and holds a CAS in Compliance in Financial Services.

Alfonso Liparulo
Alfonso Liparulo is Head of Wealth Management of CBH Bank since 2024. He is a Senior Banking Professional with extensive experience in Wealth Management and Client Relationship Management. Prior to joining CBH Group, he held various management positions at Pictet & Cie in Geneva. In 2019, he joined the Mirabaud Group, where he first held the position of Chief of Staff Wealth management before assuming commercial responsibility for the MENA, UK, Asia & Africa regions. Mr Liparulo holds a Dual Degree Executive MBA from HEC Lausanne & Carnegie Mellon University – Tepper School of Business.

Mr Nauer is Chief Operating Officer of CBH Bank since 2014 and was appointed to the Executive Committee in 2016. He has nearly 30 years of experience in the financial services industry. He started his career at UBS and then spent more than 10 years at Group Lombard Odier, as well as at Banque Privée Espirito Santo, each time holding various management positions. He also spent several years as a lecturer with the Interbank Professional Training Group. He is a graduate of the Ecole Supérieure de Commerce.

Mr Robinson is Chief Legal Counsel of CBH Bank and since 2023, he also leads the Group Compliance Department. He has more than 20 years of experience in the legal and regulatory aspects of the banking industry in Switzerland. He joined CBH in 2017 as a member of the Executive Committee and as Head of Legal, a position he previously held at Société Générale Private Banking and Merrill Lynch Banque (Suisse). Mr Robinson holds a law degree and is a licensed attorney.

Sami Portmann
Mr Portmann is co-Branch Manager of CBH Bank in Zurich which he joined in 2009. He started his career in 1976 at Lloyds Bank in Zurich, where he worked in various departments until 1983, after which he joined Lloyds Bank in New York, heading the North American Division of the Credit Department. In 1985, he joined BNP in Zurich as Deputy Branch Manager, first in Trade Finance and then in Private Banking before opening a new branch for BNP in Lugano in 1996. In 2000, he was appointed Branch Manager of BNP in Zurich. He then spent several years as CEO of a small private bank. He holds a degree in Business Administration from HWV Lucerne.

Mr Guth is co-Branch Manager of CBH Bank in Zurich since 2022. He started his career at the Swiss National Bank, in Investment Banking and in Swiss Private Banks. He then became Deputy Head of Client Relationship Management at Quilvest (Switzerland) Ltd., a family office specializing in Wealth Planning and Wealth Management. During his more than fourteen years in this position, he gained extensive knowledge in the areas of private equity, family office and wealth management. Mr Guth is an alumnus of Harvard Business School, a graduate of the Geneva Graduate Institute and the University of Geneva, and a CFA® charterholder.

Mr Sims is Chief Executive Officer of CBH in London since 2017, responsible for the strategic and operational management and development of the firm. He began his career in 1985 at T&G Stockbrokers, where he spent 24 years in a variety of roles. In 2008, Mr Sims was instrumental in establishing a new boutique wealth management and brokerage firm, WGFM Ltd. Upon its launch, he joined the firm as Executive Director and COO. In 2012, he helped facilitate the sale and transfer of WGFM to CBH Group. He continued in his role as Executive Director and COO as well as Compliance Oversight & MLRO.

Mr Baron is Chief Executive Officer of CBH in the Bahamas and a co-founder of the asset management firm 1618 Investimentos in Brazil. He began his career at UBS in 2001, first as a Relationship Manager, then as Deputy Desk Head. From 2008 to 2010, he worked at Barclays Bank covering the Iberian market. He then joined CBH, initially as Wealth Manager for the Brazilian market. In 2016 he became Head of Wealth Management and a member of the Executive Committee of CBH Bahamas. Mr Baron is a member of the Swiss Financial Analysts Association.

Ms. Benhamou is the Manager of CBH Bank’s Representative Office in Israel. She began her career in 2004 as a Chartered Accountant with Mazars Coresa in Geneva. In 2007, she joined the international relations team of the Tel-Aviv Art Museum, and in 2008, she moved on to Iforex as a Client Relationship Manager and Head of the Retention Department. Ms. Benhamou is a graduate of the Geneva School of Economics and Management of the University of Geneva.

Mr Zajd is co-Chief Executive Officer of CBH Bank’s subsidiary in Brazil, the asset management firm 1618 Investimentos, which he co-founded in 2018. He has over 20 years of expertise in the field of behavioral finance and in the wealth management industry. He began his career at CGV Advogados in 2002 and joined Banco Espírito Santo in 2004. An economist, he holds a specialist degree in Behavioral Finance from the University of Chicago.

Mr Ryfer is co-Chief Executive of CBH Bank’s subsidiary in Brazil, the asset management firm 1618 Investimentos which he joined in 2020. He began his career in the financial markets in 1994 at Banco Opportunity, and later worked at Banco Pactual, Sagitta and JGP Investimentos. He joined Hedging-Griffo in 2003, where he was a partner until 2010, responsible for Brazil and offshore asset allocation for private clients. He is currently an advisor to the GMK Institute and Professor of Finance at FK Partners. Mr Ryfer holds a degree in Economics from PUC-RJ, a post-graduate from FGV/RJ and an MBA from The Wharton School. He is also FRM®-certified, a CFA® charterholder and a Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst.
